The Phoenix Consort, led by Artistic Director Adam Whitmore, are a UK-based vocal ensemble, specialising in choral music from polyphony of the Renaissance to contemporary compositions of the 21st Century. The group performs in the United Kingdom and abroad, and records with Convivium Records. Since founding in 2021 as a means to sing during the Covid pandemic, the Phoenix Consort have won international awards and accrued a following in multiple continents.

Adam Whitmore

Artistic Director

Adam started the ensemble alongside his degree in Modern Languages at Durham University, whilst also conducted the Durham University Chamber Choir. Since then, he has been freelance singing in Spain and Estonia, gaining conducting experience. Currently, Adam is employed by the National Schools Singing Programme as a Choral Director for the Diocese of Leeds. He delivers singing education to hundreds of young people in Bradford every week and co-directs the Bradford Youth Choir. He continues to freelance alongside this with the group, conducting other choirs, and as a tenor soloist.
