About us
The Phoenix Consort, led by Artistic Director Adam Whitmore, are a UK-based vocal ensemble, specialising in choral music from polyphony of the Renaissance to contemporary compositions of the 21st Century. The group performs in the United Kingdom and abroad, and records with Convivium Records. Since founding in 2021 as a means to sing during the Covid pandemic, the Phoenix Consort have won international awards and accrued a following in multiple continents.

Adam Whitmore
Artistic Director
Adam started the ensemble alongside his degree in Modern Languages at Durham University, whilst also conducted the Durham University Chamber Choir. Since then, he has been freelance singing in Spain and Estonia, gaining conducting experience. Currently, Adam is employed in the Music Department at Ampleforth College in Yorkshire, but continues to freelance alongside this with the group, and as a tenor soloist.
The Singers
We are very fortunate to have expanded our network in the last year, and have worked with some of the most talented young singers in the country. We are extremely grateful for their commitment at all stages of the ensemble’s development.
