At Bridlington Priory Church on Saturday 23rd September, 7.30pm, the Phoenix Consort celebrates five centuries of European choral music. Hear some wonderful music from the Spanish and English Renaissance, alongside contemporary works from around the world. Thanks to the generosity of the church, this concert will be free of charge.
A contemplation of Western choral music through five centuries of European and American artistic output, A Grieving Harp illustrates the true evolution of choral repertoire from an international view. From the Spanish Renaissance, English Enlightenment and French Chanson to compositions by living composers, the Phoenix Consort invites you on a choral journey around the world, through as much a reflection as a celebration of choral music’s global influence and beauty.
