Described by Gramophone Magazine as “one of the leading choral groups focusing on new repertoire”, the Phoenix Consort is pleased to announce its next choral concert, taking place at the Church of the Holy Name, Manchester.
The programme presents a variety of choral works from the European Renaissance, crowned by the renowned piece by Gregorio Allegri, Miserere Mei. We will explore the transition from grief to themes of resurrection and light, spanning over half a millennia of choral works, up to compositions by living composers such as Eriks Ešenvalds and Lucy Walker.
